No Estate Sale is to Big or Small
No Job to Big or Small (though sometimes I wonder if I should have turned down Mrs. Abernathy’s estate—all those dolls staring at me)
With 35 years of experience and knowledge in Estate Sales, I will help you get the most money possible. The more you make, the more I make. But is it ever really enough for either of us?
Welcome To Trash To Treasure—Or Is It?
There comes a time when someone in your family passes, or you’ve accumulated far too much. I know it all too well. My parents were married for 65 years, continuously collecting throughout their lifetimes. I still haven’t gone through their things.
The recent social hoarding trend finds families feeling overwhelmed. I understand this paralysis intimately.
Pricing Our charge is straight up, though I’ve been told it’s too high.
40% commission of the total sales. This covers most areas. I take all sizes with no minimum and will travel outside of San Antonio, though sometimes I regret the long drives home.
As a business owner since 1983, my experience includes conducting estate sales in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I possess extensive knowledge of antiques, collectibles, primitives, and equally important reproductions. I retired back to San Antonio where I was born and raised. I do not own or manage a shop, though sometimes I think it would be easier than facing a new family’s grief each week.
I don’t buy remaining items. At the end of the sale, everything is donated to charity. Sometimes I lie awake wondering if I should have saved that one thing that might have mattered to someone.
Our Process
We do everything from start to finish, even when it hurts.
Evaluation & Consult (The hardest part)
Scheduling & Set Up (When I question my choices)
Advertising & Publicity (Never enough)
Close Out & Cleaning (When the ghosts emerge)
Why Us?
I will utilize my 35 years of experience to provide every opportunity for you to get the most money. After all, I’m old school and had to learn everything about antiques from books, not the internet. But sometimes I wonder if the younger dealers see things I’ve missed. I don’t “bring in” additional items or buy you out, though it might be more profitable. The remaining items are donated to charity. For a fee, I conduct appraisals, though sometimes I can’t bear to tell you what your treasures are worth.
